The Ministry of Industry and Commerce reports that 10 cooperation agreements worth $112 million were signed between private sector representatives from Balkh province and Uzbekistan’s Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The agreements were signed in Balkh in the presence of Mawlawi Shahabuddin Saqib, Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and Amanbay Orynbayev, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Uzbekistan’s Republic of Karakalpakstan.

According to the ministry, the agreements cover the construction of a flour processing factory, the import of cement, cooking oil, and pasta, and the export of apples, pomegranates, potatoes, cumin, and several other products.

Meanwhile, Afghan and Uzbek officials in Balkh inaugurated an exhibition showcasing products and industrial goods from the Republic of Uzbekistan.
