Spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas, stated that the Badakhshan–Takhar highway has been closed to traffic at 15 separate locations as a result of flooding.
He added that operational teams have been deployed to the affected areas and have already begun cleanup operations.
Mr. Haqshanas urged citizens to avoid traveling on the highway until further notice.
