Hebrew media, referring to recent tensions between the United States and European countries, have stated that U.S. President Donald Trump is a businessman and may also make deals involving Israel.
In its report, Israel’s Channel 14 television network said that the claims Trump raises under the banner of protecting Israel’s security are not true.
The channel acknowledged that Trump views the world through a commercial lens rather than a political one and evaluates everything within the framework of economic benefit and deal-making, stating that “Israel is therefore not considered a fixed priority for him.”
A few days earlier, Israel’s finance minister had said that the U.S. military base in occupied Palestine should be closed, arguing that the facility has turned into a security threat for them.
