Reuters has reported that Iran has established a covert network of more than 5,000 military and financial entities to import materials and equipment required for the production of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

According to the Reuters report, since January 2025, the network has imported military equipment, explosives, chemicals and heavy-duty cargo vehicles worth $2.3 billion.

Reuters says some of these imports were transported to Iran through various channels from Russia and European countries, and the shipments have continued even after the outbreak of the war on February 28, 2026.

The investigation adds that despite US and Israeli strikes targeting Iran’s military facilities, the country has continued importing essential equipment for its military production throughout the war.
