The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Afghanistan said in a statement that the minister, Mawlawi Ataullah Omari, emphasized the expansion of economic, agricultural, and investment cooperation between Afghanistan and India while addressing the “Afghanistan-India Trade Opportunities” conference in New Delhi, India.

According to the statement, Mawlawi Ataullah Omari said that expanding cooperation between Afghanistan and India in the fields of agriculture, irrigation, livestock, agricultural product processing, technology transfer, export development, and investment is important for the mutual benefit of both countries.

He called on Indian investors and companies to take advantage of the existing opportunities in Afghanistan’s agricultural sector, particularly by investing in agricultural production, processing, packaging, livestock development, and modern agricultural technologies.

The conference was attended by representatives of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (India), officials from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, as well as members of the private sector, exporters, and investors, who discussed expanding cooperation in agriculture, food industries, irrigation, technology, and other economic sectors.

The Ministry of Agriculture said the conference was held as part of Minister Ataullah Omari’s official visit with the aim of strengthening trade relations between Afghanistan and India and creating new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and investment.
