Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Afghan government, said the ISIS group has been completely eliminated in Afghanistan and no longer maintains any physical presence in the country.
In response to recent remarks by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Mujahid said the Afghan government’s security forces have full control over the entire country. He added that neighboring countries and other regional states have no reason for concern.
His remarks came after Lavrov said Moscow remains concerned about the presence and potential expansion of ISIS in Afghanistan.
