The Media Office of the Panjshir Provincial Governor has announced in a statement that emeralds and other precious stones from the province will be offered for auction for the first time at the Kabul International Exhibition.
Panjshir Governor Hafiz Mohammad Agha Hakim welcomed the initiative, stating that ensuring regulation and transparency in the mining sector plays an important role in introducing Panjshir’s precious stones to domestic and international markets.
According to the statement, the auction will take place on the 7th of solar month Aqrab (October 29) at Afghanistan’s first specialized mining exhibition. Three professionally licensed emerald extraction operators from Panjshir will participate in the event, where the province’s precious and semi-precious stones will also be displayed.
