The Iranian Consul General in Herat, Ali-Reza Marhamati, has said that trade between Kabul and Tehran has increased by 40 percent.

According to Tasnim News Agency, he stated that despite the war in Iran, the borders between the two countries remain open and the process of imports and exports continues normally.

Marhamati added that trade with Afghanistan is proceeding normally and all transit goods related to Afghanistan are being transported without delay through designated routes.

According to statistics, more than 1,300 cargo trucks travel between the two countries every day, and thousands of tons of commercial goods are imported into Afghanistan via railway.
