Daily Independent reported, citing information from the Home Department of Balochistan, that 100 government employees in the province have been dismissed for allegedly promoting anti state activities.
According to the report, 95 of those dismissed are university lecturers, while investigations are underway against two other lecturers.
The military regime says the move is aimed at countering anti regime activities. Critics, however, say the decision could be an attempt to suppress dissenting views in Balochistan. Questions have also been raised over how the vacant positions will be filled.
