The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, the Prevention of Vice, and the Hearing of Complaints says its moral enforces have rescued 16 women from different forms of abuse in the provinces of Khost, Ghazni, Samangan, Kapisa, Kunduz, Ghor, Badakhshan, and Uruzgan.
The moral enforcers stated that these women had for a long time been subjected by their families to harmful customs and baseless notions of “honor,” and had been deprived of all their Islamic legal rights.
The moral enforcers emphasized that they are fully committed to ensuring women receive their Islamic legal rights and will not allow anyone to violate those rights.
