Iranian news agency Tasnim, citing Israeli newspaper Haaretz, reported that 279 Israelis died by suicide in 2024 and 2025, as ongoing wars have left many Israelis grappling with severe psychological distress.

Haaretz columnist Iris Leal wrote that many families were mourning their family members killed in the fighting, wounded people remained under treatment, and some former soldiers were suffering from severe depression after losing their fellow ones.

Haaretz also highlighted the destruction of buildings and infrastructure caused by Iranian missile strikes, as well as the mounting psychological strain on the public and growing economic hardships.

Leal criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for threatening another war against Iran, warning that his threats could expose Israelis to renewed danger.
