Deputy Spokesperson for the Afghan government Hamdullah Fitrat said that, according to a report from the Secretariat of the High Commission for Addressing Migrants’ Issues, a total of 418 families, with a total of 2,163 people, returned to Afghanistan and were registered on Friday through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, and Islam Qala land crossings.
The report noted that 544 families, a total of 2,956 people, were transported to their respective provinces. Cash assistance was provided to 539 families, while 413 SIM cards were distributed to returning migrants.
Mr. Fitrat added that, alongside registration, transportation, financial assistance, healthcare, and public awareness services, returning migrants also received other essential support.
