Afghanistan’s High Commission for Addressing Migrants’ Problems announced that 431 families, totaling 2,199 citizens, returned to the country from Pakistan and Iran on Sunday (July 26) through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Wrisham-Pull, and Islam Qala land crossings, where they also underwent registration process.
The commission noted that 232 families, totaling 1,261 people, were transported to provinces across the country, with their transportation costs covered.
Cash assistance was provided to 308 returning families, while healthcare, telecommunications, and other essential services were available at crossing reception centers.
As part of the assistance efforts, 398 SIM cards with activated service packages were also distributed to returning refugees.
