Afghan and Turkmen officials held discussions on the transit and transportation significance of the Lapis Lazuli Corridor.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, an online meeting was held between Mullah Abdul Salam Haidari, Deputy Minister for Road Transport, and representatives of Turkmenistan’s transport and railway authorities.
The statement noted the talks focused on the corridor’s strategic role in regional transport and transit, as well as efforts to increase the movement of commercial goods along the route.
Both sides also discussed expanding transport and transit cooperation, improving facilities for transport companies and drivers, and addressing a number of related issues.
The ministry added that both sides reached necessary decisions in respective fields.
