The head of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the state-run electricity company, Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar, met with Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy, Daler Juma, during an official visit to the country.
According to a statement issued by DABS, the talks focused on strengthening cooperation in the electricity sector and reviewing the progress and challenges of the CASA-1000 project.
Mr. Hamkar stressed the need to accelerate work on the project, stating that enhanced coordination and joint efforts in the energy sector can help drive regional economic growth and stability.
For his part, Tajikistan’s energy minister called the project an important opportunity to boost regional connectivity, expand energy exchange, and advance economic cooperation.
DABS noted that CASA-1000 is a major electricity transmission initiative linking Central and South Asia, adding that implementation within the country has made notable progress.
