Ghairat Tursunov, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, met with Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, on the sidelines of the Afghanistan–Central Asia Consultative Talks.

The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that both sides discussed improving diplomatic relations, expanding trade and transit cooperation, and exchanging views on regional developments.

Minister Muttaqi said that, based on the ideas and proposals discussed during the consultative talks, both countries will work together to establish a roadmap for future cooperation.

He added that Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan share deep historical ties and common interests, and both countries can capitalize on existing opportunities to further strengthen their relationship.

The Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister welcomed Kabul’s initiative to launch a new regional framework, adding that the friendship between the peoples of Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan is strong and everlasting.

He further reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
