The second round of director-level political consultations between the foreign ministries of Afghanistan and Russia was held in Kabul, according to Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Takal, the Afghan delegation was led by Dr. Abdul Hai Qanit, Director of the Third Political Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Russian delegation was headed by Alexei Pavlovsky, Head of the Second Asia Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations, along with recent political developments in the region and across the world. They also exchanged views on regional stability and security, as well as other areas of mutual interest.
Both delegations stressed the expansion of economic cooperation, including increasing trade volume, promoting investment opportunities, and enhancing practical cooperation in transport and transit corridors.
Takal added that the third round of consultations is set to be held in Moscow by mutual agreement between the two sides.
