Haseebullah Noori, spokesperson for Afghanistan Bank, said the Bank made substantial progress last year in advancing both its digital and Islamic banking services.
He further noted that, during this period, the bank removed old and deteriorated banknotes from circulation and replaced them with fresh, new notes.
Mr. Noori stressed that, as a result of balanced and effective monetary policies, the Afghani currency strengthened by nearly 10 percent against the U.S. dollar over the past year.
