Arab media reported that Aidrous Zubaidi, the head of UAE-backed militias in Yemen, has fled to an undisclosed location, abandoning plans to travel to Saudi Arabia.
Sources within his semi-military faction confirmed that they have no information regarding the whereabouts of their leader.
Before his escape, Zubaidi reportedly rallied his militias to continue the fighting, but government forces intervened swiftly and stopped him.
In response, Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council head, Rashad Alimi, stripped Zubaidi of his government membership and referred him to the Public Prosecution on treason charges.
