Hebrew media have reported that around 40,000 Israelis staged protests in Tel Aviv and several other cities against Prime Minister Netanyahu’s decisions. The demonstrators opposed the dismissal of Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar and the resumption of the war on Gaza.
Protesters also accused Netanyahu of prolonging the war for his political survival and failing to take any action for the release of prisoners.
Among the protestors were former senior officials from Israel’s security agencies, including former police chief Roni Alsheikh and former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo.
