The Baloch separatist group (BLA) has declared that its “Dera Bolan” operation has successfully concluded, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of Pakistani soldiers. The operation was carried out in two phases.

According to the BLA, the first phase of the operation concluded in February 2024 with the capture of Mach city. The second phase began in March 2025 with an attack on the Jaffer Express train, which led to a week of intense fighting before the operation concluded.

The BLA claims that during these operations, 354 Pakistani soldiers were killed, more than 100 were wounded, and 214 soldiers were captured. After Pakistan rejected a proposal for a prisoner exchange, the BLA stated that all the captured soldiers were executed.

Additionally, reports confirm that 13 Baloch separatists were killed during the operation.
