BBC reported that the High Court in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, has upheld the decision to extradite former Republic parliament member Zahir Qadir to the United States.

According to the report, Zahir Qadir faces charges in New York brought by US authorities over alleged drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons. However, his lawyer and family have called the allegations politically motivated.

In its ruling, the court stated that the United States has fulfilled all legal requirements for his extradition.

It is worth noting that Zahir Qadir was arrested in May 2025 at a hotel in Nairobi.
