The Standards and Quality Authority said in a statement that its Director General, Mullah Abdullah Haji Bashir, met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Afghanistan, Alireza Bikdeli, to discuss enhancing technical cooperation, advancing standards development, and strengthening trade relations between the two countries.
According to the statement, Mullah Abdullah Haji Bashir said during the meeting that standardizing exports and imports is one of the authority’s core responsibilities, and that compliance with standards plays a vital role in improving the quality of goods, protecting public health, and safeguarding the public interest.
The statement further noted that the Iranian ambassador said Iran’s Standards Organization is ready to expand cooperation with Afghanistan in the fields of standards development and the transfer of technical expertise. He also extended an official invitation to the Director General of the Standards and Quality Authority to visit Iran.
The statement added that both sides emphasized the importance of further strengthening trade relations, expanding specialized cooperation, and making effective use of existing capacities.
