Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is on the brink of disintegration.
Tusk added that the cause of this situation is not external enemies, but rather, according to him, the growing distrust within the alliance itself.
He emphasized that NATO member states must take serious steps to prevent this “threat.”
These remarks come at a time when tensions have arisen between the United States and European countries, and Donald Trump recently stated that Washington will reduce its military presence in Germany.
The U.S. president had also previously said that he is considering the possibility of ending America’s membership in NATO.
