The Nangarhar Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock has stated that this year, peach production in Nangarhar is estimated to exceed 110,000 tons.

According to the Directorate’s figures, this year peach orchards have been cultivated on 2,021.5 jeribs of land across 22 districts of Nangarhar, and it is estimated that 11,320 metric tons of yield will be obtained from these orchards.

According to available information, last year peach orchards covered 1,991.5 jeribs of land in the province, from which 11,223.34 metric tons of produce were harvested.

Officials from the Nangarhar Directorate of Agriculture have said that peach products are exported from the districts of this province to other provinces, which, in addition to meeting domestic market needs, has also increased farmers’ incomes.
