The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs has reported that the first group of Afghan pilgrims, which departed last night, has arrived in the holy coty of Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs, the pilgrims were received by Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Riyadh, Mawlawi Abdul Fattah Haqqani, together with representatives of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, officials from the Afghan Consulate in Jeddah, and Hajj consuls in Makkah and Madinah.
The statement further added that the pilgrims will remain in the holy city of Madinah for eight days and nights, during which they will perform 40 prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque. They will also visit several sacred sites and places.
