A report by the Foundation for Peace and Economy on global terrorism states that since the interim government rise to power in Afghanistan, terrorism has decreased in the country, while it has increased by 45% in Pakistan.
The report highlights that, following the establishment of the interim government in Afghanistan, terrorism has significantly declined there. In contrast, it has intensified in Pakistan, where terrorist attacks have resulted in the deaths of 1,081 individuals.
According to the report, Afghanistan has not been among the five countries most affected by terrorism for the second consecutive year. This year, it ranks ninth, showing notable improvement compared to previous years.
In the annual global terrorism rankings, Pakistan is the second country to suffer the most fatalities from terrorist attacks. Burkina Faso in West Africa tops the list, with 1,532 deaths due to terrorism.
The report concludes by emphasizing that, since the interim government’s takeover in Afghanistan, terrorism has surged in Pakistan, with the number of terrorist attacks increasing fivefold since 2021.
