The spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Sharafat Zaman, stated that the ministry’s leadership has instructed health officials in Kabul and the provinces to be fully prepared to respond to those affected by the earthquake.
Mr. Zaman added that in case of need for medical assistance, citizens can contact the free hotline number 102.
This comes as an earthquake measuring over 5 on the Richter scale struck this evening, affecting the capital Kabul as well as eastern and northeastern provinces of the country.
