The spokesperson for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Homayoun Afghan, said that construction work on the Herat segment of the TAPI gas pipeline has reached nearly 52 percent completion.

He added that extensive work is currently underway across multiple areas inside Afghanistan on the project.

The ongoing activities include preparing the pipeline route, transporting pipes and essential equipment, excavating trenches, welding operations, and laying the pipeline.

According to Mr. Afghan, 80 kilometers of pipeline have so far been laid, while nearly 126 kilometers of pipeline corridor has been prepared. He also noted that an additional 72.3 kilometers of pipeline has been delivered to the project site.
