The International Human Rights Foundation (IHRF), in a newly released report, stated that three children were martyred and at least six other civilians were injured as a result of an alleged artillery strike by Pakistani forces in the Sediq Ghurab area of Ali Sher District, Khost Province.
According to the report, the incident occurred in the early hours of June 10, and the strike hit a civilian residential area.
The foundation stated that the use of heavy weapons in populated areas raises serious concerns about potential violations of international humanitarian law and human rights principles.
The foundation added that the incident is part of a series of recurring attacks in several border provinces of Afghanistan, which have resulted in civilian casualties and the destruction of homes.
The foundation has called on the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and the International Criminal Court (ICC) to conduct comprehensive investigations into these incidents and take the necessary measures to ensure accountability for those responsible.
