Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has strongly criticized U.S. policies, especially those of the country’s president, in a post on X.

Referring to Donald Trump’s slogan “Make America Great Again,” Ghalibaf questioned what, exactly, Washington hopes to “make great again” through war.

He further stated that, in practice, U.S. policies have contributed to inflation, economic pressure, the concentration of wealth and power among the elite, and political corruption.

The remarks come as the ceasefire between Iran and the United States nears its end, with uncertainty persisting over the possible start of a second round of negotiations.
