The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom has reported that Israel’s intelligence agency, the Mossad, created a secret unit dedicated to infiltration and destabilization operations against Iran.
Sources said the unit was established following a change in Mossad’s leadership in 2021. Initially, it focused on special operations targeting senior Iranian officials, but its activities later expanded and became part of Mossad’s broader strategy toward Iran.
According to the sources, officials overseeing the unit believe that recent operations represent only one phase of a long-term plan and that their activities against Iran are still ongoing.
A former head of the unit reportedly stated that its objective is to accelerate the weakening of the Iranian government, adding that the current phase should be viewed as the beginning of the campaign rather than its conclusion.
The report also states that the unit is now operating with greater intensity, seeking to speed up the process of political change in Iran.
