Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction of the Pakistani Taliban, has issued threats against the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in Lahore and Karachi.
In its statement, the group specifically warned foreign players to withdraw from the tournament, warning of significant security threats.
Jamaat-ul-Ahrar is an anti-Pakistani regime group known for carrying out deadly attacks against the regime targets in the past.
This comes as Pakistan’s Interior Minister announced yesterday that, due to security concerns, the next round of PSL will be held without spectators.
