Journalist and analyst Mirwais Afghan, referring to the upcoming meeting expected to be hosted by Pakistan’s intelligence agency (ISI) involving Afghan government opponents and former politicians, stated that Afghanistan is a shared home for all, and Pakistan is a common enemy of all Afghans. Based on this understanding, he said, all Afghan patriots, whether “Taliban” or “Taliban opponents”, have unanimously condemned the Islamabad gathering.
He added that this wave of condemnation even forced some individuals to denounce the meeting, despite their own representatives attending it.
Mirwais Afghan further noted, “Representatives of some so-called famous Afghan political leaders are participating in the Islamabad meeting, yet they now pretend to be patriotic and publicly criticize the event.”
Mirwais described those attending the meeting as “warlords” whose past influence has ended and who now cannot even speak freely due to fear of the Afghan government.
Pointing at the participants and their supporters, he said, “You send representatives to Islamabad, but you also pretend to stand for patriotism and Afghan identity.”
