The Governor of Uzbekistan’s Andijan Province, Shahrit Rahmanov, accompanied by a 60-member business delegation, held talks with the Governor of Herat, Sheikh Maulana Islam Jar.

According to a statement from the Herat provincial office, the two sides discussed ways to enhance trade and transit links, including the expansion of highways and railway networks, the establishment of a permanent exhibition center for Uzbek products in Herat, and the formation of a joint chamber of commerce.

Governor Islam Jar stressed the importance of expanding economic relations and promoting joint investment, noting that all necessary facilitation would be provided to traders.

For their part, the Uzbek delegation expressed interest in investing in Herat and called for increased bilateral trade.

Both sides also agreed that a delegation of Herat-based traders would visit Andijan Province in the near future, where they will showcase their products at a joint exhibition.
