Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it shot down a US MQ-9 drone over the Strait of Hormuz early Tuesday morning.
In a statement, the IRGC said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed the drone as part of Iran’s integrated air defense network.
The IRGC claimed that this was the 54th US MQ-9 drone it had shot down.
The report did not mention any response from the United States.
The MQ-9 drone is estimated to cost around $30 million.
