Afghanistan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock has reported a sharp rise in pomegranate exports from Kandahar during the current solar hijri year 1404.

Officials from Kandahar’s Agriculture Directorate reported that 21,870 metric tons of pomegranates have been exported so far, marking a significant increase compared to last year’s figures.

This milestone follows the Afghan government’s successful resumption of Kandahar pomegranate exports to Russia, ending a 30‑year pause.
