Kazakh media have reported that the country intends to increase its trade with Afghanistan from the current level of around $500 million to $3 billion.

Kazakh officials stated that their exports to Afghanistan include grains, flour, and agricultural products.

They added that the Turgundi–Herat railway project will be important for expanding trade between Kabul and Astana.

It is worth noting that Kazakhstan considers Afghanistan an important transit corridor for access to the markets of South Asia and Central Asia.
