Zalmay Khalilzad, the Afghan-American diplomat, recently posted on his X to express concerns over reports suggesting that politicians from the fallen Afghan republic are meeting with officials from Pakistan’s intelligence agency. He warned that if these reports are true, it would be a negative move.
Khalilzad cautioned that Islamabad might be using these politicians as intelligence assets, ultimately leading them to provoke violence and suffering among Afghan youth.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has played a key role in fueling violence in Afghanistan.
