North Korea’s state news agency reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

During the call, Putin updated Kim on his upcoming meeting in Alaska this week with U.S. President Donald Trump.

The leaders also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations under last year’s strategic cooperation agreement.

The report added that Putin expressed gratitude for North Korea’s support in the battle to “liberate” the Kursk region and praised the courage of its troops.
