In a statement, the office of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stated the president urged a visiting European Union delegation to pressure Israel to uphold the ceasefire and stop the destruction of villages in Lebanon.

According to the statement, Aoun also stressed that he supports resolving the current crisis through dialogue and negotiations.

The remarks come as Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon, where ongoing strikes since the beginning of March 2024 have killed 2,759 people, including women, children, and healthcare workers, and injured another 8,512.
