International media report that several major airlines unexpectedly canceled dozens of flights to Israel and Gulf countries on Friday.

The announcement followed a warning from the Turkish foreign minister that Israel may still be seeking an opportunity to launch a strike against Iran, potentially escalating regional tensions.

According to reports, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, and Swiss International Air Lines have all suspended their flights to Tel Aviv.

In addition, some carriers have also halted services to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Reports note that the coordinated nature of the cancellations suggests that the airlines made the decision based on joint intelligence assessments of security risks in the region.
