The spokesperson for the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Enayat Alokozai, stated that in the past 19 days, 120,000 free SIM cards have been distributed to Afghan refugees returning from Iran in order to address their communication needs.

According to his statement, the Directorate of Communications and IT in Herat province, along with monitoring teams, is closely overseeing the distribution and services of the SIM cards and taking immediate action in case of any issues.

Alokozai added that, on average, around 6,500 SIM cards are distributed daily free of charge by telecom companies to returnees at the Islam Qala camp on the Afghanistan-Iran border. These SIM cards also include free internet and call minutes.
