The Ministry of Public Works has announced that more than 66,000 metric tons of goods were transported via the railway network during the past week.
Ministry spokesperson Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas stated that a total of 66,298 metric tons of shipments were moved through the railway system over this period.
According to the ministry’s figures, 50,792 metric tons were transported through Hairatan Port, 4,364 tons via Aqina Port, 7,612 tons through Torghundi Port, and 3,530 tons along the Khaf–Herat railway line. The shipments included petroleum, non-petroleum, and other materials, both imported and exported.
The ministry added that part of the total volume consisted of transit and export goods. Over the past week, 5,822 metric tons were exported or transited, primarily comprising dried fruits, pomegranate juice, oranges, and potatoes.
