The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints says its moral enforcers (Muhtasibs) have rescued eleven women in the provinces of Zabul, Uruzgan, and Nangarhar who were suffering under harmful traditional practices and severe domestic violence, and ensured they received their Islamic legal rights.
According to a statement from the ministry, local residents have praised the moral enforcers’ efforts in preventing wrongdoing and negative incidents in their areas, and expressed their support for standing alongside them in reforming society.
It is worth noting that the moral enforcers had previously also rescued thousands of women from domestic violence and forced marriages in various parts of the country.
