The Prime Minister of the Afghan government, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, held a telephone conversation with Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to the Deputy Spokesman of the government, Hamdullah Fitrat, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and Pakistan’s violation of Afghanistan’s airspace.

Fitrat stated that Mr. Akhund emphasized Afghanistan is not in favor of war, and that it was Pakistan that initiated the aggression by violating Afghan sovereignty.

Mr. Akhund further mentioned that a delegation led by the Minister of National Defense is currently holding talks with the Pakistani side in Doha, and Afghanistan awaits the outcomes of these discussions with respect.

On the other hand, the Malaysian Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the initiation of dialogue between both parties, emphasized resolving the issue through diplomacy, and assured support in this regard.
