The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced that Afghanistan’s exports and imports via the air corridors of Kabul, Kandahar, and Balkh airports have reached $292 million in the current year (1403 in the Afghan calendar).

According to the ministry, of this total, $125 million was generated from exports, while $167 million accounted for imports.

Afghanistan’s exports were sent to Austria, Jordan, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Africa, Germany, China, India, and other countries. These exports primarily consisted of dried fruits, saffron, fresh and dried figs, jujube, pine nuts, garments, and handicrafts.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan imported various pharmaceutical products and electronic equipment through these air corridors.

Officials at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce expressed optimism that enhanced transportation, improved infrastructure, and greater access to international markets will further boost Afghanistan’s exports in the coming years.
