The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) has introduced a new plan to improve services for citizens by giving more authority to its provincial directorates. These directorates can now handle several tasks related to citizenship IDs, including canceling duplicate IDs, correcting ages, changing names, fixing spelling errors, adjusting surnames, and adding or removing prefixes and suffixes.
This change was announced today during an online meeting between NSIA and the provincial directorates. Abdul Qahir Haji Idrees, the head of NSIA, explained that the aim is to resolve citizens’ issues more quickly and avoid unnecessary delays. He encouraged the provincial heads to perform their duties with transparency, honesty, and independence.
This initiative is expected to save citizens money and address many existing problems in this area. It should make the process more efficient and provide better, faster services to the public.
