In the past two days, Pakistani police have arrested a significant number of Afghan refugees in Islamabad. This action follows the recent directive from Pakistani authorities, which bans Afghan refugees without NOC (No Objection Certificate) documents from staying in the country after December 30, 2024.

Despite continuous efforts, many Afghans have not been able to obtain these documents. Security forces in Pakistan have started house-to-house searches in various parts of Islamabad, detaining numerous refugees and sending them to police stations. Some of the detained refugees have been moved to specific locations for deportation back to Afghanistan.

These actions by Pakistani security agencies have sparked widespread reactions.

Many Afghan refugees have called on the United Nations and the international community to take action to prevent these measures by Pakistan.
