The Pakistani Taliban Movement’s forces carried out a drone attack this (Sunday) morning on a military base in the Kalam Darchi area of Hunza Tehsil, Gilgit-Baltistan province.
Local sources told Voice of Hindukush that the strike directly hit the central part of the military base, resulting in the death and injury of 12 soldiers, including a high-ranking officer.
The source added that the condition of some of the injured is reported to be critical.
This marks the fifth attack by the Pakistani Taliban in Gilgit-Baltistan in recent days.
The movement had also recently issued a warning in the Gilgiti language, urging Pakistani regime’s soldiers to abandon their posts.
